The Profoto Pro-11 2400 AirTTL has joined the flash inventory. It is Profoto’s flagship pack: 2400 Ws across two outlets, with an 11 f-stop range from 2.4 Ws to full, adjustable in tenths of a stop and controlled independently on each outlet.
Speed is the point
The Pro-11 recycles in 0.02 to 0.7 seconds and sustains bursts of up to 50 flashes per second.
That number means something specific: you can put a fast camera on motor drive and the flash follows. The sequence is not limited by the light any more, which changes how a moving subject can be shot — a dancer, a jump, fabric in the air.
Flash duration in Freeze mode goes down to 1/80,000 s (t0.5) at minimum power, against 1/12,000 s in Normal mode. At that speed movement stops completely.
Colour that holds across a sequence
Colour temperature stability is ±100 K across the power range and ±50 K flash to flash in Normal mode. On a shoot that runs hundreds of frames, that consistency is what keeps retouching from becoming frame-by-frame work.
Daylight and control
High-Speed Sync works to 1/8000 s, which is what allows flash to overpower the sun at a wide aperture — the difference between a background that reads and one that blows out on a beach at midday.
Built-in AirX gives wireless control up to 300 m in normal sync, 100 m in TTL and HSS, plus control and firmware updates from the Profoto apps. Modelling lamps up to 500 W are supported, and the pack drives the full Profoto head range and 120+ light shaping tools.
The pack weighs 13.2 kg.
