Description

The RODE NTG2 is a short shotgun condenser microphone with a supercardioid pattern, designed for boom and camera-mounted use on film, television and documentary productions. Its distinguishing feature is dual powering: it runs on 48V phantom power or on a single AA battery, which makes it usable on cameras and recorders that supply no phantom power at all. A switchable high-pass filter removes low-frequency rumble from traffic and wind, and the low self-noise keeps quiet dialogue clean. At around 160 grams it is light enough for extended boom operation. Used for interviews, documentary, corporate video and as a second microphone on a multi-camera setup.
