Description

The RODE VideoMic GO II is a lightweight directional on-camera shotgun microphone that requires no battery, drawing plug-in power from the camera’s 3.5 mm input, and which also works as a USB microphone on a computer or phone. At under 90 grams it adds almost nothing to a gimbal or a mirrorless rig, and its supercardioid pattern rejects enough off-axis sound to lift dialogue clearly above street noise. Through RODE’s software the polar pattern, level and high-pass filter can be configured over USB. It is not a boom microphone replacement, but it is the right tool for reference audio, run-and-gun documentary, corporate interviews and social content.
