Description

The Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM is the professional macro lens of the Canon EF system, delivering true 1:1 magnification at a 0.30 m minimum focusing distance. Its Hybrid IS system corrects both angular and shift movement, the second of which becomes dominant at close focusing distances where conventional stabilisation is least effective. The L-series construction is weather-sealed, the ring-type USM motor focuses quickly and silently with full-time manual override, and the internal focus design keeps the front element from rotating, so polarisers and ring lights remain aligned. The 100 mm focal length also works as a short telephoto portrait lens with very smooth background rendering. Used for product, jewellery, food, still-life and beauty photography.
