The Nikon AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED is Nikon’s reference macro lens, delivering true 1:1 reproduction at a 0.314 m minimum focusing distance. Vibration Reduction is tuned for close-up work, where the effective magnification amplifies every hand movement, and Nano Crystal Coat keeps contrast high when a small subject is lit from behind or from the side. The internal focus design means the front element does not rotate or extend, so ring flashes, polarisers and diffusers stay in position. The 105 mm focal length also doubles as an excellent short telephoto for portraiture, with smooth out-of-focus rendering from the nine-blade diaphragm.
