The Aputure Spotlight Max kit with the 36-degree lens is an optical projection attachment for high-output Bowens-mount LED fixtures, giving hard-edged, precisely shaped light. It accepts gobos for projecting window frames, blinds and foliage patterns, framing shutters for cutting the beam into an exact rectangle or wedge, and an iris for sizing the pool. The 36-degree lens is the wider of the two standard options and the more useful inside normal interiors, where working distance is short. This is the modern equivalent of a theatrical ellipsoidal, and it is what allows a set to be lit with implied off-screen sources.
